It’s unclear how Marie Matthews and Werner Dornfield met, but they married in 1925 and shared a love for comedic commentary. In the Robert Lund Memorial Library, there is a book of poems attributed to Marie, on topics ranging from magic, to elections, holidays, and Butzer Boy, the cockatoo that she and Dorny bought in Australia.
